The Burmese employee who was severely beaten in the head and gotten fired by the Thai boss

Kyaw Moe Htun, an employee working at the Bush Flower clothing factory near the airport in Mae Sot, was beaten in the head and fired from work by the brother in law, Phi Tot, of his employer Phi Sawan, according to Kyaw Moe Htun’s grandmother. She had asked PVA for further legal action.

Phi Sawan had not only failed to take responsibility in this regard but also fired him by threatening to get him arrested by the police. After the reporting of the other employees and the neighbors, the village head and the ambulance came and took him to the student clinic in stead of the hospital since Kyaw Moe Htun had no money to pay for it.

The student clinic then transferred him to the hospital for his serious injuries. At the hospital, Kyaw Moe Htun had sustained 9 stitches on the right side of the head and one stitch on the left after the surgery. The hospital claimed him to pay for the charges or he would be discharged otherwise. The employer had still refused to pay for it as well.

As soon as he was discharged, PVA had decided to take his case for the further legal action.
