The dispute between the employer and employees

An employer named Marnut a Hmao ethnic of Thailand living in Waekhalote village Mae Sot had inhumanely treated the 38 Burmese employees such as cursing, kicking the face with the boots and threatening the life with a gun for failure to follow the protocol. At the same time, he failed to pay their salaries by giving excuses like “until after the malt plantation” or “after the potato plantation”. On April 16, 2010 two employees named Ko Htu Htu and Ko Maung Lin had run away for kicking in their faces frequently by him. He also refused to pay their salaries for running away from the work by challenging them to report anywhere they wanted to claim for their salaries. On April 22, 2010, the representative of the 38 workers came to PVA asking for help to get back their salaries at the amount of 200,000baht.

PVA and LLC in consultation with the village authorities negotiated with the employer to pay 200,000baht that he owed to the employees successfully. He finally signed an agreement to pay the money in October of 2010 in front of PVA, LLC and the village authorities.
