Resolving salary dispute

On February 8, 2012 at 6pm, on behalf of 13 migrant workers, who claimed that Ko Nge, a masonry contractor in a construction site in Mae Sot, had failed to pay their salaries on time, Ko Mae and Ko Soe came to PVA and asked for help in this regard.

13 workers gathered at PVA

PVA called Ko Nge, the contractor, to come to the office for the settlement of the dispute.

According to Ko Nge, the problem was not because of the unwilling to pay their salaries on time but because of his busy schedule working three construction sites at a time. He also told PVA that he always had sympathy for the workers. And, he agreed to pay the half of their salaries now, and the rests would be paid by the end of the contract.

All the workers agreed his offer. PVA finally ordered both parties to sign an agreement in this regard.
