8 Burmese citizens were sold to fishing boats

8 Burmese citizens including Ko Thant Zin (31) were sold to the fishing boats at 22,000 per head by Ahzaw (28) from Maharchai, according to Ko Thant Zin’s sister named Ma Swe Swe Lin (24) who came to report to PVA on October 1, 2011.

According to her, her brother knew Ahzaw via his brother named Yan Naing Soe who used to work with him in Yahine. Later Ahzaw persuaded her brother promising to get a job in Bangkok. Thus, her brother along with his 7 other friends decided to tag along with Ahzaw. Her brother finally called her claiming that they all were sold to the fishing boats near Maharchai finally.

PVA along with the regional authorities were trying to save them now.
